Noting the success of Export Clubs in other regions of Scotland, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce have decided to canvas the local business community, in particular SME's, to establish if there is a requirement and desire for the creation of an Export Club in the North East.

Assuming the response to be positive the intention would be to appoint a steering committee with a co-ordinator and run four exploratory meetings in the first 12 months, This will allow the business community to sample for themselves the benefits to be gained through Membership of an Export Club.

As it is important that every existing or potential exporter has the opportunity to participate the Chamber propose that meetings are spread throughout the rural towns, with perhaps the secretariat based outside the city of Aberdeen.
